Divine: The Big Light Pot

Bringing New Life to Old Trees

Designed by Ari Korolainen

Inspired by the desire to create an art piece that could be admired from both the lake and the ground, Ari Korolainen designed the Divine, a collection of five 180 cm pots that give new life to old trees. When boats approach the lake in the evening, they are greeted by the sight of these magnificent pots, resembling flowers blooming around the trees.

What sets the Divine apart is its unique design as a big light pot. Made of one or two pieces of opal plastic, the pot does not have a bottom. Instead, it is placed around a growing tree and the edges are fastened together using "rapid locks." The bottom of the pot features an LED light that illuminates both the pot and the tree, creating a stunning visual effect.

The Divine is available in various sizes, ranging from 70 cm to 180 cm in height. The tallest pot is designed in such a way that it prevents people from looking inside, adding an air of mystery and intrigue. It can be used both indoors and outdoors, functioning as a standalone lamp or as a half pot fastened to walls.

Constructed with durable materials, the Divine is suitable for outdoor use even in harsh winter conditions. It can be delivered flat-packed or placed inside other pots for convenience. Its versatility and unique design make it a standout piece in any space.

Designed with the intention of evoking an emotional response, the Divine has garnered positive feedback from those who have encountered it. Its ability to transform the surroundings and create a captivating ambiance is truly remarkable.

The Divine was created with the aim of showcasing it at the prestigious Salone del Mobile. Its innovative design and aesthetic appeal make it a strong contender for recognition in the world of art, architecture, and design.
